Director, Media & Integrated Communications (ICP) – Danone Canada (12-month Maternity Leave contract)

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Marketing, the Media & Integrated Communications Director (ICP) is responsible for the media investment strategy, the full media ecosystem, the digital vision of Danone Canada, as well as the planning and integrated communication process of each brand. The Media & Integrated Communications Director is responsible, working closely with category leads, to build strong and admired brands by continuously finding new ways to strengthen and elevate communication strategies, through both traditional and digital media, and address consumers in a relevant manner with effective and impactful creatives.

More specifically, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop the vision and strategy of Danone’s Paid media, aligned with local and global priorities, to increase short and medium-term effectiveness (net sales and equity):
  • Establish and develop success/performance measures and strategic articulations to measure media impact, in close collaboration with global teams.
  • Recommend the mix, planning, and budget envelopes by brand, in coordination with Category Directors and media agency.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of media plan executions and optimizations through his/her team.
  • Be the guardian of communication focus and budget allocation by campaign and touchpoint
  • Provide recommendations to Category Directors and the SVP Marketing regarding media strategies, targeted audiences, budgets, performance analysis, and content development across all touchpoints.
  • Responsible for medium to long-term innovation in media and content to stay ahead of market trends.
  • Develop and negotiate 360 multi-category partnership and asset strategies.
  • Ensure the evolution of the strategy and entire digital ecosystem (Paid, Owned, Earned) of Danone's various brands by advising the SVP Marketing and category directors:
  • Build and accelerate the technological vision of tools supporting the digital ecosystem.
  • Owner of the editorial line of the digital ecosystem (including client platforms) and also responsible for the agencies in charge of its implementation and effectiveness.
  • Develop and ensure the SEM/SEO vision, strategy, and investment mix across Danone websites and digital ecosystem. Responsible to optimize and develop synergies with retail/e-commerce strategies.
  • In partnership with category teams, leads the integrated campaign planning process (ICP) as part of the annual planning process. Partners closely with brand team and agencies in the development of campaign strategies, creative territories, consumer testing and full development of the Above-The-Line and Below-the-Line creative development.
  • Partners closely with Danone Shopper Marketing and e-commerce teams to ensure omnichannel continuity.
  • Ensure skills development and education of both the media and ICP team, as well as the broader marketing and leadership teams for media, digital, integrated communications, and AI. Supports the team in its digital transformation and prepare it for the next digital transformation curve.
  • Manage relationships with media, digital and content agencies for the full marketing funnel.

About you

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in the media field (media agency), with at least three years in a managerial and leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in digital media. (Ability to build effective media plans with high bias for digital strategy) Demonstrated experience leading integrated creative planning process and creative development
  • Strategic mindset. An ability to develop clear, insight driven strategies and translate them into actions. Can manage complex and diverse plans and provide simplified strategic recommendations to the company's leadership team.
  • Ability to build and develop effective relationships with external partners. Experience working with global accounts and clients (an asset).
  • Good knowledge of the digital ecosystem and its tools (IAS, DV360, Adwords, Vividata, Architect, Vivix, Pathmatics, etc.).
  • University degree in business or commerce with a specialization in marketing, media, or communication
