What - the Role

On behalf of veritree, Swim Recruiting is conducting the recruitment for a strategic and results‑driven Director of Marketing to lead veritree’s marketing team and accelerate the company’s growth trajectory. This is a newly created role. The Director will lead a marketing team of 6+ people and will collaborate closely with the senior leadership team (including sales, operations, finance, etc.).

This is a well‑rounded and fulfilling role. The Director will develop and lead the execution of marketing strategies, define initiatives for demand generation, oversee multi‑channel demand generation campaigns, and collaborate with sales and product teams to align go‑to‑market plans. The Director and their team will strengthen veritree’s brand position in the market via PR and earned media, and the Director will be a key storyteller and ambassador at events and online for the company’s mission and value proposition.

The Director and their team will make data‑driven marketing decisions, applying strategy, creativity, business acumen, and a long‑term sustainable outlook when allocating resources across a variety of marketing campaigns and initiatives.

The company already has excellent marketing processes, KPIs, metrics, data collection methods, and systems in place, but the Director of Marketing will continue to expand, improve, and innovate in the years to come. Who - the Candidate

The ideal candidate will have extensive marketing experience in the technology sector, with a proven track record of building demand generation and go‑to‑market teams, and aligning marketing strategies with sales objectives. Experience within venture‑backed businesses is an asset.

We are looking for an individual with at least 10 years and ideally 12+ years of progressive B2B marketing experience, including at least 4 years directly leading and mentoring a marketing team (minimum 3 direct reports, ideally 7+).

Marketing leadership experience in the technology sector is required. Recent and relevant experience with a recurring revenue B2B SAAS model is highly preferred. Veritree serves customers across financial services, retail, CPG, technology, natural resources, and other sectors in multiple countries.

Qualified candidates will have worked with past/current employers during significant periods of change and growth (e.g., scaling revenues, acquisitions, new product rollouts, or expansion into new countries or customer verticals).

We are looking for someone who can concurrently MARKET and LEAD. The Director should be capable of leading major marketing campaigns while conducting 1:1s with their team, performance managing, interviewing, and training new hires.

Soft skills are crucial. Ideal traits include entrepreneurial, innovative, self‑motivated, inspiring, communicative, collaborative, humble yet confident, flexible, open‑minded, attentive listener, adept negotiator, visionary, strategic, ethical, values‑based, energetic, and team‑oriented. How Much

Base salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications, likely in the range of $150,000 to $200,000. The Director of Marketing will be eligible for a bonus and long‑term incentives. Total compensation will align with the achievement of marketing goals, revenue targets, team performance, and retention, among other metrics. The role includes a competitive health benefits plan, generous paid time off, some remote work flexibility, and an learning & development budget.

Where

HYBRID. Veritree is headquartered in Vancouver, so the strong preference is for a candidate residing and working in Vancouver. Swim Recruiting will also consider qualified candidates who live elsewhere in Canada with highly relevant experience and a proven ability to lead, inspire, and mentor from afar. The Director of Marketing will travel for business approximately quarterly (primarily within North America for conferences, trade shows, conventions, leadership summits, etc.).
