Job Title: Director, Maintenance & Operations

Reporting to the Assistant Vice-President Facilities Management and Planning, the Director, Maintenance & Operations is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of all University buildings, grounds and roads; alterations and renovations to all existing buildings in compliance with the Universities Campus Master Plan; Environmental Health and Safety programs, as well as campus space utilization. The Director, Maintenance & Operations is responsible for ensuring the implementation of necessary planning, scheduling and programs required to develop long term sustainable preventative maintenance, repairs, and replacement of the Universities assets. The Director, Maintenance & Operations will be a key member supporting the refresh of Laurentians long-term Campus Masterplan for the maintenance, renewal and preservation, and sustainable development of Laurentians academic, research, common space and natural assets. Working closely with the AVP of Facilities and Planning, the Director of Operations and Maintenance will also be a key member of a planning group in collaboration with multiple external stakeholders including the Greater City of Sudbury to review and advise on the redevelopment of Laurentians Athletic and Recreation facilities.

The official University hours of operation shall be from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, during, and including, the months from September to April, and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m Monday through Friday during and including May to August., amounting to thirty-three and three-quarter (33.75) hours per week.
