Job summary

The Alberta Public Service is seeking a Senior Manager for the MAID portfolio located in Edmonton or Calgary. This role provides strategic leadership and operational oversight to advance safe, equitable MAID access across the province.

The position requires a university degree in Health or Business Administration with seven years of relevant experience, and the ability to navigate complex policy and stakeholder landscapes to deliver meaningful health system improvements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Alberta’s healthcare system, MAID, and government priorities.
• Experience leading large-scale programs, with strategy development, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Strong understanding of quality improvement, change management and transformation in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for MAID portfolio.
• Lead MAID policy development, planning and program implementation.
• Advise senior leadership, Ministers Office, and stakeholders on policy and operational issues.
• Oversee issues management, policy reviews, and emerging trends in MAID services.
• Build relationships with government partners, healthcare organizations, and stakeholders.
• Lead cross-functional teams to improve access, service delivery, and patient outcomes.
• Represent the Ministry on cross-ministry and national committees.
