What you will be doing:

The Director, Lending & Payments Portfolio Analytics & Performance Management leads product and portfolio analysis & planning team to inform the overall Lending and Payments growth strategy; to support decision-making for business investments, product development & enhancements, marketing strategies, and pricing recommendations. Key success measures include: attaining P&L objectives for Lending & Payments overall and the results of pricing, acquisition, volume and balance growth levers.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

• Lead Tangerine Lending & Payments Portfolio Analysis & Ensuring Targeted Economics & Profitability to drive market leading volume & balance growth across credit cards, unsecured lines & loans, secured lending and day-to-day payments.
• All Lending & Payments forecasting, planning & reporting including annual, quarterly, monthly & daily targets, forecasting & reporting supporting the portfolio lifecycle management and business investment prioritization efforts in coordination with Tangerine Finance
• Leadership of Lending P&L monitoring, business case and results tracking/reporting as a key partner to Tangerine Finance and with Scotiabank Treasury to lead FTP & funding strategies on behalf the Tangerine Lending team
• The Director, Portfolio Analytics & Product Performance is also the department’s Data Steward, the business owner of the data for the Lending Data Domain and provides oversight and governance for the department’s data.
• Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Develops and executes business line strategies that align with targets, divisional and overall business goals. Works with partners as required to implement strategic direction.
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
• Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

• BA requirement, MBA an asset
• CFA an asset
• 5+ years in a product or analytics role with strong understanding of P&L drivers and financial reporting
• 10+ years in a banking/lending/financial services experience
• Strong analytics acumen required - Lending P&L portfolio drivers, pricing and analytics experience preferred
• Knowledge of lending products, both unsecured and secured
