Our client, Cascades (TSX: CAS), provides sustainable, innovative, and value-driven solutions in packaging, hygiene, and recovery. Founded in 1964, the company employs nearly 10,000 people across a network of approximately 70 operating units throughout North America.

Cascades is looking for a Director of Legal Affairs to join its team of about fifteen legal professionals.

Reporting to the Corporate Vice-President, Legal Affairs, you will be responsible for legal matters related to the “Packaging Group” business unit. Leading a team of four legal counsel, you will serve on the Packaging Group’s management committee and provide day-to-day legal guidance to business leaders, supporting them in identify and mitigating legal risks. In your role as a business partner, you will be involved in negotiating and advising on major commercial agreements, real estate transactions, and asset purchase and sale deals. You will contribute to the development and implementation of the sector’s vision and strategic plan, participate in the creation and enforcement of internal policies, and, when needed, oversee litigation management in collaboration with external counsel.
