Position Summary

As our Director, Learning & Organizational Development, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team and lead cultural development initiatives that distinguish us as an employer of choice. What you'll be doing

  • Lead the design, development, implementation and evaluation of programs, policies and strategies tailored to meet OD needs and program goals
  • Regularly assess workplace experience across the organization and oversee follow-up at all levels
  • Bring forward Homewood Health strategic issues, recommendations and solutions
  • Support the identification and implementation of the best and most current HR and organizational development practices
  • Manage an L&OD Manager who supports leaders and teams through learning and coaching opportunities and an Inclusive Culture Consultant who leads the implementation of our DEI Strategic plan
  • Provide expert facilitation, coaching and consultation to leaders regarding effective leadership and team development
  • Manage the individual talent development planning process for executives and emerging leaders
  • Build a succession planning framework and work with leaders to prepare individual succession plans for critical roles
  • Drive the continuing implementation of the National Standard for Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace
  • Create and deliver change management and employee engagement programs, while undertaking OD interventions and recommending solutions to address gaps
  • Act as a resource to the HR team to develop team-building exercises and workshops, diagnose potential organizational problem areas and resolve conflict within groups
  • Establish and track L & OD performance indicators, measuring quality, consistency and effectiveness and make recommendations to support continuous improvement
  • Collaborate on the development and refinement of the HR strategic plan to drive the organization's strategic priorities
  • Provide insights and advice on the selection of off-the-shelf training content

What we're looking for

  • 5 - 7 years' combined experience coaching and supporting teams and leaders in an OD capacity, developing and facilitating corporate learning programs in a complex, multi-site organization and developing / implementing OD initiatives and projects, including a minimum of two years in a management capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or other relevant discipline; Master's degree in organizational development / organizational behavior is an asset
  • CPHR and OD certification preferred; certification related to coaching is an asset (ICF or other)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning styles, participative training design, group dynamics, interactive learning, leadership coaching and conflict resolution
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills; French skills are an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to think and act with strategic and tactical agility, prioritize and drive tangible results
  • Proven ability to design, develop and deliver effective and engaging learning sessions, programs and presentations, both in person and remotely
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods
  • Effective in a fast-paced, changing, service-centric environment
  • Ability to perform and interpret needs analyses and translate findings into development / training strategies
  • Ability to work independently and also build relationships as part of a team environment where interpersonal and partnering skills are valued
  • Knowledge of competency modeling, selection and training, organizational development and performance management
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint; effective at creating learning assessments, resources and presentations
