What is the Opportunity?

As Director and Lead Solution Architect within the Operational Effectiveness (OE) group in Personal & Commercial Operations (PCO), you will work with OE and PCO partners, business stakeholders and IT to lead design of end-to-end solution architecture for complex transformational and end to end optimization initiatives. You will primarily be responsible for the creation of the solution approach, rationalization of the solution, improvement of resiliency, presentation and communication of the solution, and guiding the delivery teams on implementation.

What is the Opportunity?

As Director and Lead Solution Architect within the Operational Effectiveness (OE) group in Personal & Commercial Operations (PCO), you will work with OE and PCO partners, business stakeholders and IT to lead design of end-to-end solution architecture for complex transformational and end to end optimization initiatives. You will primarily be responsible for the creation of the solution approach, rationalization of the solution, improvement of resiliency, presentation and communication of the solution, and guiding the delivery teams on implementation.

What will you do?

  • Lead the Solution Architecture team responsible for developing design for complex transformational and end to end optimization initiatives, including solution architecture, in accordance with strategies and objectives
  • Provide expertise to colleagues and partners on a variety of issues in software design and system architecture
  • Ensure delivery of OE architecture artifacts, including solution blueprints and decision documents
  • Ensure the improvement of resiliency across the OE portfolio, and delivery of the OE current state Architecture & North Star Architecture
  • Deliver a roadmap to achieve the North Star Architecture in accordance with the goals and business cases defined by the team
  • Monitor current trends, both internal to RBC and external in the industry, in relation to the deliverables by the team
  • Retain and grow existing talent or addition of new talent to the team

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field
  • Strong Experience in Information Technology Development and Architecture Roles
  • Solid experience in designing resilient enterprise applications using On Premises and Cloud computing platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of different architecture/design techniques (e.g. Automation, SOA/Microservices, REST/SOAP, Cloud Native applications, Event-Driven Architecture, Data Pipelines), modern and legacy technology platforms
  • Professional oral and written communication and strong presentation skills, and ability to communicate and discuss complex topics with technical and non-technical audiences

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with large scale transformational initiatives delivering straight-through processing, process digitization or AI-driven solutions
  • People leadership experience in a cross-functional environment
