Job description

The Director, IT Enterprise Systems is a senior leader in business and technology who reports to the Chief Information Officer and leads the planning, organization, and management of IT Enterprise Systems initiatives that support the city’s vision of creating and sustaining the best quality of life for the entire community. The Director oversees the design, implementation, operation, and support of IT systems and programs that serve the business and citizen needs of the city, such as enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, business intelligence, data analytics, digital services, and cloud computing. The Director also participates in organization-wide initiatives and collaborates with other IT leaders and stakeholders to ensure alignment of IT strategy, policies, and standards across the department and organization. The Director provides leadership in managing all business applications, security, access controls, reporting infrastructure, and integration between applications. The position manages the capital and operating budget within approved limits for Business Applications & Support initiatives. Performs related duties as required.

Qualifications include a master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field, with a minimum of eight years of progressive management experience at a senior level, preferably in municipal government. Certification in project management, process engineering, IT service management, or software development lifecycle methodologies is desirable. The role requires thorough knowledge of principles, practices, techniques, legislation, methods, procedures, and technology industry trends and standards applicable to the work, as well as significant knowledge of City rules, regulations, policies, procedures, practices, and operations. The ability to apply technology industry trends to enterprise systems, supervise and motivate staff, manage large projects, develop solutions based on strategic and analytical problem solving, and handle sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy is essential. A Driver’s Licence for British Columbia is required.

Salary : $173,565 - $178,386 - $183,226 - $188,047 - $192,868 / year with a $10,973 Annual Stipend (2024 Rates)
