Position: Director, IT Business Solutions & Integration

Location: Markham, ON

Structure: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days work from home), full-time employee opportunity

Summary:

The Director, IT Business Solutions & Integration is responsible for developing and stewarding both IT strategy and IT governance across Black & McDonald’s (B&M’s) regions while simultaneously executing an IT service delivery model to meet the unique technological and digital needs of the entire B & M team. The Director will work in tandem with key stakeholders to develop and deliver secure, enhanced, and coordinated information technology systems and services in partnership with leaders and IT personnel from all academic and administrative areas.

In this role you will:

  • Develop and execute a multi-year roadmap to increase our reliability, agility, and security while reducing complexity and maintenance burden. Lead the development of IT infrastructure, support, and telecom strategies in collaboration with other peer stakeholders. Create and maintain the overall Production Support Strategy roadmap including team structure, tracking, and metrics.
  • Conduct research and make recommendations on products, services, protocols, and standards in support of all infrastructure procurement and implementation efforts.
  • Responsible for the successful delivery of applications & operations initiatives on schedule and budget with high quality. Ensuring cost-effective delivery of IT services and able to respond with agility to changing business priorities.
  • Prepare RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for projects and associated efforts.
  • Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure products and services. Dealing with, negotiating, and managing Vendor relationships within an Enterprise environment.
  • Identification and implementation of cost optimization opportunities leveraging our scale.
  • Lead the Application Support team to work with solution and managed service partners to resolve AMS issues, review and assess SLAs, prioritize incident resolution, & assess managed services performance delivery.
  • Manage and set priorities for the design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all systems and applications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experiences:

Technical:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, or related mix of College training and work experience.
  • Proven track record of developing IT policies and procedures.
  • Experience in successfully implementing major technology initiatives in a dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft CRM/Dynamics365 platforms.
  • 5+ years’ experience working within the ITIL Frameworks and/or leading a Tools, Automation, and/or process team.
  • Strong awareness and experience in IT audit and compliance management (SOC, COBIT, SSAE).
  • The ideal candidate has 15+ years of progressive experience in a senior IT leadership position, ideally embedded in a large and complex organization.
  • Experience managing cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred).
