Purpose

The Director of Insurance Distribution – Global Insurance leads the distribution strategy for insurance products at IB retail and small business levels across all channels. This role is vital for driving growth, expanding markets, and acquiring clients through various distribution channels. The Director ensures alignment with the bank's strategic objectives and collaborates with senior leadership, sales, marketing, and product teams to create a seamless, profitable distribution model that complies with regulations, policies, and procedures.

Accountabilities
  1. Develops insurance distribution strategies in collaboration with local and regional teams.
  2. Establishes priorities, leads initiatives, and builds partnerships with distribution channels including branches, digital platforms, contact centers, and third-party providers.
  3. Builds relationships with IB management to support insurance business growth.
  4. Motivates and evaluates distribution teams, refining strategies for effectiveness and efficiency.
  5. Provides coaching, training, and advisory tools to enhance client engagement and team knowledge.
  6. Partners with local insurance leads and IB Retail for sales, profit planning, and forecasting, setting realistic targets.
  7. Collaborates on marketing campaigns with internal and external partners to maximize outcomes.
  8. Assesses market potential, identifies product gaps, and explores opportunities for different segments.
  9. Maintains relevant insurance propositions in client conversations across channels.
  10. Ensures incentives promote responsible sales behaviors and productivity, aligned with risk and sales policies.
  11. Drives profitable growth through all sales roles and fosters meaningful client relationships.
  12. Promotes a customer-focused culture that deepens client relationships and leverages broader bank resources.
  13. Maintains a strong understanding of the bank's retail strategy and builds relationships with key stakeholders.
  14. Keeps abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and market competition to identify new opportunities.
  15. Considers the bank’s risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decisions.
  16. Creates an environment for effective operations, ensuring compliance with operational, risk, and conduct standards.
  17. Builds a high-performance team, fostering an inclusive environment, and managing succession and development plans.
Education / Experience / Other Information
  • University degree in Business, Marketing, or relevant insurance industry designations; MBA or MA preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish is required.
  • Deep understanding of the insurance industry, regulations, and market dynamics in relevant countries.
  • Strong strategic, analytical, communication, and management skills.
  • Proven ability to influence across business lines and geographies, with excellent interpersonal skills for matrix management.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership and coaching skills to develop teams and implement initiatives effectively.
