Job summary

RBC Insurance is seeking a strategic leader to head the Insurance Data Management Office, driving data governance, privacy, and AI governance across the organization. You will partner with senior leaders to ensure compliant, innovative data use and support digital transformation.

Leading a cross-functional team, you will shape governance frameworks, manage regulatory risk, and foster a culture of data-driven decision making aimed at business growth and value realization.

Qualifications

  • 12-15 years of experience in financial services, including 8+ years in leadership roles.
  • Proven expertise in Data Governance, Data Management, Privacy Risk Management, and AI Governance within a regulated environment.
  • Extensive experience leading large-scale regulatory, data, digital, or business transformation initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of data privacy regulations, risk management practices, and governance frameworks (e.g., PIPEDA, GDPR, AI governance).
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams in complex enterprise environments.
  • Master’s or MBA in a relevant field, combined with exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and leadership capabilities.

  • Establish data quality, protection, risk assessment, and information management frameworks to safeguard critical business data assets.

What is the Opportunity?

As the Director, Insurance Data Management Office, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight for Data Management, Privacy Governance, and AI Governance across RBC Insurance. Acting as both a first line of defense for data, privacy, and AI risks and a strategic transformation leader, you will drive insurance-wide governance, regulatory compliance, innovation, and value realization initiatives. What do you need to succeed?
Must Have

  • Knowledge of emerging technologies including AI/ML, cloud platforms, advanced analytics, and modern data architecture.
  • Experience establishing strategic partnerships with technology vendors, industry consortiums, consulting firms, or academic institutions.
