Job description

An established global investment platform is seeking a Director to join its infrastructure private equity team in Toronto. The team is responsible for deploying significant capital across core and core-plus infrastructure opportunities globally, with a focus on transportation, utilities, digital infrastructure, and environmental services.

Role Overview

As a Director, you will play a leadership role in driving all aspects of the investment lifecycle—from origination and diligence to underwriting, execution, and portfolio company value creation. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and play an integral role in sourcing new opportunities, managing complex transactions, and partnering with management teams post-investment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead transaction execution and underwriting efforts for new investments
  • Actively contribute to origination strategies and market intelligence
  • Drive value creation initiatives across portfolio companies, including operational improvements, strategic planning, and capital structure optimization
  • Mentor and develop junior investment professionals
  • Partner with internal functional teams (legal, tax, operations, ESG) to ensure best-in-class execution and governance

Candidate Profile

  • 8–12 years of experience in infrastructure private equity, investment banking, or principal investing
  • Proven experience leading transactions in sectors such as transport, utilities, energy transition, digital infrastructure, or environmental services
  • Strong financial modeling, transaction structuring, and valuation skills
  • Commercial acumen and strategic mindset to identify value creation opportunities
