The Faculty is a major partner within the Toronto Academic Health Science Network (TAHSN), one of North America’s largest, most productive biomedical research, education and clinical networks, comprised of 14 full and associate affiliate teaching hospitals and dozens of community-affiliated hospitals and clinical care sites. Temerty Medicine offers unparalleled opportunities in Canada’s most dynamic city, and contributes almost one-third of the family physicians who train and enter practice in Ontario, and over half of the specialist physicians.

In recent years, Temerty Medicine has made strategic investments to scale its IT infrastructure and service delivery model to promote continuous improvement, to remain ahead of technological advancement and to deliver high-quality, client focused IT services to educators, learners, clinicians, researchers and staff. MedIT – the Faculty’s enterprise IT unit – was launched in 2023 with a mission to partner with faculty constituents, the University community, and third parties to determine value-based, sustainable technology solutions, and to deliver a secure, reliable and robust IT infrastructure.

The Temerty Faculty of Medicine is seeking a visionary Director, Information Technology. As part of the Chief Administrative Officer’s senior leadership team, the Director will empower a dynamic team to drive cross-functional collaboration on all major information, research and education technology projects and operations within Temerty Medicine. They will promote the appropriate use of information technology to enhance all aspects of the Faculty’s education, research and administration streams; foster a culture of cybersecurity; ensure that the Faculty’s security safeguards support the protection of digital assets; and represent the Faculty’s goals and priorities in University-wide initiatives and on city, provincial and national committees and organizations.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of success in providing strategic leadership, planning, oversight and financial and human resources management expertise in the areas of information, education and research technologies, as well as digital transformation. A strong communicator with a service-oriented mindset, the Director will be highly results-driven and adept at building relationships, forging consensus and engagement across a complex organization. They will demonstrate a commitment to building and sustaining an inclusive and equitable working and learning environment for all students, staff and faculty, and the ability to motivate, mentor and empower their team.
