The Information Security & Security Programs team is committed to providing programs that secure our data and systems. Our Secure-by-Design approach identifies cybersecurity risks early and works with stakeholders to implement controls, improving our cybersecurity posture. We collaborate across TELUS to meet regulatory obligations, share best practices, and extend our cybersecurity framework to new acquisitions, third parties, and stakeholders.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and inspire a team of security and technology professionals across various domains, managing strategy and program execution
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand their security needs and design secure solutions
  • Communicate security risks to executive leadership in business terms
  • Enhance TELUS's reputation as trustworthy and innovative through strategic leadership and compliance
  • Ensure compliance with international cybersecurity standards and contractual requirements
  • Assess and test networks and systems for vulnerabilities and automate remediation processes
  • Foster team engagement and support professional development
  • Attract cybersecurity talent domestically and globally
What you bring
  • Strong program and financial management skills
  • Expertise in security technologies, including AI, cryptography, blockchain, 5G, cloud security, identity systems, SaaS, and security analytics
  • Knowledge of Canadian cybersecurity regulations and third-party risk management
  • Experience with critical infrastructure cybersecurity and resilience
  • Ability to communicate complex topics clearly to diverse audiences
  • Over 10 years of leadership in security teams
  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
  • Eligibility for or possession of Canadian Secret Level security clearance

Great-to-haves

  • Leadership experience as a CSO/CISO or in public sector cybersecurity
  • Broad knowledge of security laws, standards, and controls
  • Experience in both government and private sectors
  • Master’s degree in related fields
  • Certifications like GICSP and CISSP
  • Fluency in English & French

English proficiency is essential for interactions with external and internal parties and English-based IT tools.

Salary Range: $126,000-$190,000

Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 30%

Total compensation depends on skills, experience, and performance.
