As Director, Human Resources you'll lead people operations for a global, purpose-driven organization during a time of strategic growth and transformation. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), you'll play a key role in shaping the employe experience and driving positive change across the business.
With a focus on innovation and best practices, you'll evolve HR programs and influence how we support, engage, and empower our team. As we build a culture rooted in curiosity and emerging technologies - including AI - you'll help ensure our people practices keep pace with how work is evolving.
What You'll Do
- Champion people strategy. Design and execute HR strategies that support business objectives, including workforce planning, succession, and organizational development.
- Lead performance and development. Own the performance management cycle and support leaders in coaching, feedback, and employee development planning.
- Elevate employee experience. Foster a culture of engagement, inclusion, and continuous feedback. Oversee all touchpoints of the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding.
- Optimize total rewards. Oversee compensation reviews, bonus programs, and benefits across Canada, US, UK, and Australia to attract and retain top talent.
- Streamline HR operations. Ensure accuracy, compliance, and security in HRIS, payroll, and global employment practices.
- Lead recruitment and retention. Manage full cycle hiring through internal and external channels. Partner with hiring managers to scope roles and execute structured, inclusive interview processes.
- Drive data and compliance. Track key HR metrics and ensure alignment with employment legislation across all regions. Maintain up-to-date HR policies and employee handbook.
- Mentor and empower your team. Lead and develop the HR Coordinator / Office Administrator. Provide guidance on office operations, team events, and internal communications.
Qualifications & Skills :
Must Have :
- 7+ years of progressive HR experience, with 3+ years in a senior HR leadership role.
- Proven success in scaling organizations and managing change with a strategic and hands-on approach.
- Deep knowledge of Canadian employment; experience with global regions (US, UK, and Australia) is an asset.
- Strong coaching, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing strategic priorities with day-to-day HR needs.
Nice-to-Have :
- Experience with BambooHR, Payworks, Trakstar Hire & Perform, Confluence, and Monday.com.
- Familiarity with AI tools or automation platforms that support HR, recruitment, or employee development.
- Experience working with Employer of Record (EOR) models in global employment contexts.
What We Offer :
- Completion bonus at end of the 12-month contract
