The world is rapidly changing and getting increasingly weird.
At Wierd(A)dvisory, we believe that the nature of advice and expertise is changing and that being strategic calls for more creative problem-solving. That's why we prioritize creating an environment where exceptional individuals with diverse perspectives, thinking, and capabilities can thrive and do their best work.
We are currently in search of a senior strategy advisor to join our team as a Director, where they will engage with and provide strategic guidance to our key healthcare clients.
We're a boutique consultancy that partners with senior executives at some of the world's most respected companies and promising disruptors, guiding them through unique challenges arising from complex internal and external dynamics. They choose to engage with us because of our demonstrated willingness to approach longstanding challenges in new ways and our commitment to exceptional quality in everything we do.
While we work across diverse industries, we have a robust and growing healthcare practice serving marquee pharmaceutical and life sciences brands navigating the complex journey from molecule to market.
Craftsmanship is one of our core values and we believe in doing things very differently from what we see in big box consulting firms.
Exceptional Work Awaits our Next Director : About the Role
As a Strategy Director, you will address weird and complex challenges, orchestrate project resources, and build strong partnerships with senior executives.
Your role requires exceptional intelligence, evident from the moment you begin a conversation. You are an expert in idea generation, problem identification, analysis, design, synthesis, and strategic planning, with a deep understanding of decision-making processes and the mechanisms driving innovation within large organizations.
Your high emotional intelligence and social awareness enable you to navigate high-stakes executive communications with ease. Your passion for the art of conversation is evident in your expert facilitation skills, particularly in workshop settings. You excel in collaborative settings, thriving through constructive debate and reverse mentorship.
You have a genuine curiosity about the world and the businesses driving change, thinking big picture while grasping the intricate details that move industries. Whether it's navigating complex regulatory environments, understanding patient journey dynamics, or addressing the unique challenges of bringing life-saving innovations to market. You're a quick study when confronted with new domains. When crucial moments in projects arise, you're not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get directly involved, rather than merely delegating tasks.
Whether or not you have commercial experience in your background, you are committed to building something special. You understand how to develop opportunities and design emerging initiatives. You will actively contribute to shaping the firm's strategies, growth plans, thought leadership, and product / service development.
Why This Might Be The Best Job In Canada For You
Attractive pay and growth opportunities.
Our company ethos has employee experience at the centre, fostering a culture that values your well-being and creates the conditions for you to do amazing work.
We are strong proponents that the future of work is already here, but unevenly distributed - you should expect to enjoy the flexibility of working from your ideal location, complemented by occasional team gatherings for collaboration and fun.
If you thrive on doing exceptional work and seek a start-up 'feel' versus the bureaucracy and politics of a large enterprise or large firm, we are your ideal fit.
We consistently aim for purposeful discussion and debate, building muscles and manners that help us say goodbye to dull meetings and hello to more meaningful collaboration.
Work on meaningful challenges that directly impact patient outcomes and healthcare innovation, from drug development strategy to healthcare system transformation.
A small and impactful part of our business mix involves taking on projects connected to causes, engaging in important system-level conversations, and pro bono work that gives back.
The Recruitment Process
It's important we get to know each other. Our selection process probably includes several stages : a virtual interview, a panel interview, some kind of fun case, and a final face-to-face interview in Toronto. References will be contacted before extending an offer. Expect clear and timely communication throughout.
Late summer early Fall 2025 target start.
How to Apply
Ready to be part of something exceptional? Let's talk.
Skip the 'traditional' cover letter. Write something or build 1 infographic slide to tell us a bit about who you are, what makes you "good-weird", what kind of problems you're interested in, and the single best use case you've found for AI. Bonus points for usage of emojis!
Include your resume and LinkedIn profile URL.

While our current team is based in downtown Toronto, we embrace internet-enabled collaboration. We sometimes prioritize in-person meetings for significant client milestones and maintain a regular cadence of onsite team time for client delivery. We also add some excitement with occasional gatherings as a team at a cozy loft downtown. But keep in mind that you won't be required to come to the office every day (...or barely ever), and your suitability for the position isn't contingent on having a Toronto / GTA postal code.
