Springs Window Fashions is hiring for a Director of Global Procurement based in our Madison, WI area Corporate Headquarters.

This is an onsite role, remote is not an option.

Job Summary

Due to our continued growth and customer demand, we are currently recruiting for a qualified Director of Procurement reporting to the Vice President of Global Procurement. This individual will lead strategic procurement functions and category managers to drive total cost of ownership improvements.

Design strategic sourcing plans of various categories and provide oversight and governance of associated material acquisitions, contract negotiations; perform category spend and risk analysis; and design and implement category and supplier risk mitigation strategies. Must have global experience with concentration in Asia.

The position has been created to lead the strategic sourcing and category management in its efforts to leverage the Company’s purchasing spend across specific key categories of spend that spans multiple business units. The new position will implement a center led organization that will think global and act local. This role will lead a major transformation of existing Sourcing & Procurement practices, and drive, design, and reengineer the existing processes into standardized products and practices throughout the enterprise. Participate and coordinate sourcing activities across multiple functions such as Product Management and Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Establish strong relationships with the team and suppliers globally.
  • Establish sourcing strategies for assigned spend, collaborating to ensure incorporation and business unit participation.
  • Lead negotiations to minimize total cost of ownership for goods and services. Oversee strategic sourcing methodology, RFIs/RFPs to ensure compliance with required policies and procedures.
  • Provide support and influence the strategic planning process as it relates to strategic supplier price, quality, services, innovation and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Assess supply rationalization to optimal levels.
  • Maintain market knowledge, trends, and assessment of global trade, and labor to identify strategic opportunities to develop the current and prospective supplier base.
  • Collaborate with senior management and executive levels to establish short-term and long-term business objectives for the procurement function in alignment with corporate objectives and financial goals.
  • Assess supply risk, financials, and overall problem-solving options.
  • Monitor service performance and contract to budget, identifying price variances to commodities and total cost of ownership.
  • Formalize the process of ongoing supplier base research and analysis, ensuring procurement team maintains an updated portfolio of supply options and sourcing trends.
  • Establish development practices to enhance capabilities and direct spend analysis/reporting activities to:
    • Systematically identify savings opportunities.
    • Identify non-compliant spend to contract budgets.
    • Institute data-driven negotiation.
  • Build relationships while working closely with all levels of executives across the organization to identify and lead strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Invest in building relationships and communicating the vision to key stakeholders to transform organizational thinking in procurement.
  • Audit and govern procurement policies and procedures to ensure standardization of information collection to obtain competitive advantage to cycle sourcing process efficiency; institute spend analytics, material segmentation and internal audits, performance and compliance measurement.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing, motivated team of procurement professionals responsible for the development and implementation of strategic sourcing events (people, processes, and technology).
  • Work with Engineering and testing to prioritize sourcing activities.
  • Oversee all activities related to the management of assigned spend, from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity/service.
  • Recruit, maintain and manage world-class suppliers with a focus on total cost of ownership improvements while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.
  • Ensure and review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, terms/conditions, and acceptability of items to specifications.
  • Be responsible for timely reporting to agreed-upon KPI's.
  • Develop supply strategies that align with business strategy and priority for spend portfolios that are under your responsibilities.
  • Utilize data analysis skills to effectively identify value opportunities.
  • Challenge status quo through managed approach and sophistication.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Must have a BS/BA from an accredited University. Preferred MBA.
  • 10-15 years sourcing/procurement experience.
  • International procurement experience. Specific skills, knowledge, and/or licenses.
  • Certifications a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Microsoft Project.
  • Analytical - ability to analyze strategic options and their direct potential and indirect impact on the organization.
  • Project management & problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated supplier management skills.
  • Must be able to work and effectively communicate with all levels of the company and suppliers.
