Purpose

The Director of Global Maintenance and Regulatory Implementation for GBM Onboarding has dual responsibilities:

  1. Regulatory Change Management: Oversee regulatory change projects affecting onboarding, ensuring compliance and timely achievement of operational goals.
  2. Global Client Maintenance: Ensure periodic updates and maintenance of GBM’s client portfolio comply with AML/Fin Crime, Tax, Margin, and Regulatory Regimes (MIFID, EMIR, CANDER, CFTC, SBS), providing an optimal experience for clients and front office partners.

This role also manages the Global Refresh program, offshore vendors, and project initiatives involving internal and external stakeholders, maintaining regulatory compliance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee regulatory change projects impacting onboarding, ensuring deadlines and compliance goals are met.
  • Maintain GBM’s client portfolio, ensuring updates align with relevant regulatory regimes.
  • Ensure an optimal onboarding and ongoing relationship management experience for clients and front office partners.
  • Oversee the Global Refresh program and manage offshore vendors and project initiatives with stakeholders.
  • Champion a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank systems and knowledge.
  • Consider the bank’s risk appetite and culture in daily activities and decisions.
  • Promote efficient operations aligned with Scotiabank’s values, conduct, and global principles, ensuring effective controls for operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risks.
  • Foster a high-performance, inclusive work environment.
Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of financial services experience, preferably with complex regulatory projects and managed services contracts.
  • Deep understanding of capital markets, trade lifecycle, and corporate and investment banking.
  • Familiarity with systems supporting the GBM customer lifecycle.
  • Exceptional project management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Sound judgment in risk identification and escalation.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and vendor management.
  • Expertise in change management, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience in risk management.
