Job summary

Studio Designer, LLC is seeking a Director of Development to lead a dedicated frontend-focused team responsible for our all-in-one interior design platform. You will define technical direction, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product leadership to deliver scalable frontend solutions.

You will guide architecture, balance priorities, and drive frontend initiatives across the company, ensuring security, reliability, and exceptional user experiences for customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in software development or hands-on site reliability engineering of fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Experience operating SaaS software systems in a production environment.
• Experience with AWS or other major cloud providers.
• Experience architecting, designing, and building frontend components and applications connecting to new or established services.
• Experience with frontend frameworks like Angular/Typescript and modern testing tools (Playwright, NUnit, MS Test).

• Define strategic direction for frontend architecture and development practices.
• Support engineers in career development and growth.
• Balance project priorities, team morale, technical debt, and customer needs.

• Partner with Development leaders to manage prioritization across frontend initiatives.
• Mentor peers to propagate reliability best practices.
