Join our team as a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Business Intelligence (BI)!

In this key leadership role, you’ll be responsible for driving forecasting, budgeting, and analytical insights to support business decision-making. You will oversee the integration of reporting tools and data analytics to optimize financial performance, enhance operational efficiency, and contribute to the company’s overall growth and profitability. You’ll be collaborating with executive leadership, business unit managers, and cross-functional teams, to provide strategic financial leadership and actionable business intelligence.

We are ideally seeking a candidate located in Calgary. Our Home Office is located in Calgary.

What Will You Be Doing?

  • Leading the financial planning process, including annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial projections
  • Partnering with senior leadership to define key financial and operational metrics and develop actionable insights to guide decision-making
  • Analyzing financial performance, identifying variances, and providing recommendations for corrective actions or improvement
  • Developing and maintaining detailed financial models to support strategic initiatives and business expansion
  • Overseeing the preparation of regular financial reporting packages, ensuring accurate, timely, and relevant information for stakeholders
  • Monitoring key financial KPIs and driving improvements based on analytical insights
  • Managing the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of business intelligence tools, dashboards, and reporting systems
  • Collaborating with IT, data analysts, and business stakeholders to integrate BI platforms with financial and operational data systems
  • Leveraging BI tools to deliver insights that influence strategic decisions and drive operational efficiencies
  • Developing ad-hoc and customized reports to support business and financial analysis
  • Providing training and guidance to cross-functional teams on how to utilize BI tools and reports effectively
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams
  • Fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the FP&A and BI teams
  • Providing ongoing training and development opportunities to team members to enhance skills in financial analysis, reporting, and BI tool utilization
  • Identifying trends, risks, and opportunities by analyzing internal and external data sources
  • Providing actionable insights to improve profitability, cost management, and investment decisions
  • Advising on strategic initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions, capital expenditures, and market expansion opportunities

As The Successful Candidate You Have

  • Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science or related Field
  • CPA designation or equivalent required
  • 10+ years experience in FP&A, BI, or data analytics with 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Experience managing and leveraging BI (PowerBI) and financial systems (OneStream, Hyperion)
  • A Strong understanding of financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Expertise in financial analysis, performance metrics, and data-driven decision-making
  • Proficiency in BI and data visualization tools and techniques
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data analytics software
  • Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Leadership experience with a proven track record of building and mentoring high-performing teams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to executive level or non-financial stakeholders
  • Ability to build strong relationships with Senior Leadership and other support teams to influence and drive change
