We are seeking a Senior Financial Leader who will report to the General Manager of Fairmont Palliser and the Regional Director Finance & Business Support at Fairmont Central Canada. This role is a key member of the property's Executive Committee and will play a crucial role in driving financial performance and operational excellence.
- Business Operations Analysis: Analyze and advise on revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments, and future revenues. Recommend efficient resource use and provide strategic financial recommendations.
- Financial Management: Lead the Accounting, Purchasing, Receiving, and IT departments, ensuring all standards are followed. Oversee the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Team Leadership: Support, guide, and coach team members to ensure positive colleague engagement. Develop and implement Colleague Engagement Survey Action Plans.
- Executive Participation: Actively participate in Executive Committee, Department Head, and Revenue Management meetings. Contribute to the preparation of annual operating budgets, sales plans, and strategic plans.
- Compliance and Controls: Ensure full compliance with Accor IFRS and internal financial controls. Establish and monitor operational controls and strategies.
- Cash Flow Management: Ensure adequate cash flow for operations, approve cash disbursements, and oversee budget and forecast activities.
- Asset Protection: Protect Fairmont / Accor and hotel ownership interests in assets and operations, liaising with Corporate Legal and Risk Management as needed.
- Health & Safety: Follow and promote health and safety standards within the team and operations.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager and Regional Director.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of senior financial leadership experience, preferably in the hotel / hospitality industry.
- Canadian Accounting Designation preferred.
- Proficient in complex accounting software, Microsoft applications, and relevant computer tools.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
