Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a senior financial reporting professional for an insurance client in Toronto. This role leads IFRS quarter-end reporting, regulatory returns, IFRS 17 SAS data handling, and external audits.

You will collaborate with the SVP Actuary to reconcile actuarial data to the general ledger, prepare board materials, and monitor IFRS and corporate tax changes while maintaining SOX controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
• Minimum 10 years of financial reporting experience.
• Experience in P&C Insurance accounting (including IFRS17) is essential.
• A high degree of technical and analytical expertise, excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead IFRS quarter end reporting process and regulatory returns.
• Coordinate actuarial data inputs and ensure reconciliations to the general ledger.
• Prepare annual financial statements and notes for external auditors.
• Manage external and internal audits including SOX and OSFI.
• Support ESG and CRO reporting requirements for board meetings.
• File actuarial returns and related schedules with regulators.
