An exciting period of change for our BC client has created the opportunity for us to find a passionate change-agent and technically strong CPA for this Director, Finance role.

As a key member of this dynamic head office group, this role will work strategically with all lines of business while supporting the Senior Director as a key leader and contributor to the innovation of the financial reporting and FP&A functions. You will lead & mentor two professional direct reports and help them grow and excel in their careers, and assist them with mentoring their respective teams.

Just as important, you love to ‘tell the story’ and get buy-in from various business groups within the organization for strategic initiatives and financial reports. You know how to read the room and communicate appropriately while demonstrating the value of any new initiative.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of post-qualification experience, with at least 3+ years in a leadership role managing a medium-sized accounting and / or FP&A team
  • 3+ years as a Controller or Senior Manager ready for the next step
  • Experience working in a not-for-profit organization reporting under ASNPO and understanding restricted fund accounting
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles, CPA Handbook Part III, deferral accounting & risk mitigation
  • Strong IT skills including MS Excel, Power BI, and ERP systems
  • Passion for data validation, analytics, and visualization for strategic decision-making
  • Experience communicating across multiple departments, a key differentiator
  • Critical thinker, detail-oriented, adaptable, self-motivated, personable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident in presentations and business acumen
  • Respectful and honest approach to all interactions
