The Director, Facilites, Maintenance & Office Services provides leadership and direction for all aspects of facility operations across the organization, including coordination of internal teams, external consultants, contractors, trades, and national maintenance contracts. This role manages repairs and maintenance for all company sites and ensures operational excellence through effective planning, budgeting, and execution of facility projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and execution of national facilities and preventative maintenance programs, delivering high-quality results and clear communication to stakeholders

  • Manage annual facilities budget, including forecasting, tracking expenditures, analyzing variances, and implementing corrective actions as needed

  • Oversee and integrate of the CMMS Facilities platform into company mandates

  • Develop a long-term (+5 year) maintenance plan prioritizing capital projects and equipment lifecycle

  • Build business cases for maintenance initiatives; collaborate with Procurement on RFPs and vendor selection

  • Ensure continuous operation of facilities and equipment, including HVAC, power, plumbing, vertical transportation, and building envelope; respond effectively to emergencies and non-routine issues

  • Negotiate and manage national contracts for facility and service providers; maintain strong vendor relationships

  • Lead, coach, and retain a high-performing team

  • Support sustainability initiatives during project planning and execution

  • Collaborate with the Office Services team to manage cleaning services and inventory for shared office spaces

  • Partner with Health & Safety and Joint Health & Safety Committees to ensure cosmpliance and drive proactive safety initiatives; serve as an active JHSC member

  • Enforce compliance with building codes and regulations at all levels

  • Identify and implement tools, systems, metrics, and best practices to support project delivery within scope, schedule, budget, and safety requirement


Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience

  • 10+ years of progressive facilities management experience, including 3- 5 years' recent leadership experience

  • Technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and building systems

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; strong project management and organizational skills

  • Experience with HVAC, electrical, elevator/escalator systems an asset

  • Certified JHSC member an asset

  • Proven leadership and influence skills; collaborative and hands-on approach

  • Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills

  • Adaptable and comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Highly service-oriented with exceptional follow-through

  • Interest in fashion or luxury retail is a plus
