The Vice President, Head of Global Trading is seeking a Director, Equity Trading to join the trading team. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to our team and located in our Toronto, Montreal or Quebec City offices.
Who you’ll work with:
The equity trading team collaborates closely with various portfolio managers, analysts, and other teams across the organization (legal, operations, compliance)
The individual will report directly to the Global Head of Trading, work closely with other equity traders, and traders in other asset classes
Key duties and responsibilities:
Monitor and execute timely and reliable transactions in equities, equity derivatives, futures and FX
Support trading team in order management and operational processes
Collaborate and share market insights with the investment team in a timely manner
Coordinate with various departments such as Accounting, Legal and Operations
Conduct thorough analysis of market data, trends, and performance metrics to inform the use of automated trading algorithms
Monitor and maintain automated trading systems, ensuring reliability, performance, and compliance with regulatory requirements
Foster relationships with our counterparties to ensure optimal access to liquidity
Assist in the development of junior traders
Support process enhancements, including pre/post trade analytics, TCA
Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor's degree in a related field of study (advanced degree or CFA preferred)
Minimum 7 years experience of trading equity products
Knowledge of Bloomberg and other trading tools
Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English
Capable of thriving under pressure, managing multiple tasks, and upholding attention to detail
Effective teamwork abilities
Coding in Python, SQL, VBA is an asset
Experience Trading in FX/Futures/FI/Credit is an asset
Proficiency in French is an asset
