Job summary

SaskEnergy seeks a Director, Enterprise Security to lead the development and management of enterprise security practices, standards and technologies, mitigating physical and cyber risks and promoting a security-aware culture across management, customers and industry.

This temporary full-time role for up to 12 months directs security policy, vendor negotiations, and risk-driven remediation while aligning with corporate strategy and governance.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Administration, Computer Science or Engineering required.
  • Advanced security certifications (CISSP, CPP, CISM) are assets.
  • Nine years of enterprise security experience in a business environment, with ability to obtain Government of Canada Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and provide leadership in the development and implementation of enterprise security plans.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement security solutions for IT, OT and physical assets.
  • Lead risk and gap assessments and drive remediation action plans.
  • Develop strategic recommendations for the Executive and Board on cyber and physical security.
  • Manage policies, procedures and vendor contracts related to Enterprise Security.

Job description

SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Director, Enterprise Security directs and provides leadership for the overall development and management of enterprise security ensuring practices, procedures, standards and technologies are effectively mitigating identified physical and cyber risks. This includes implementing security processes that drive a security aware culture; facilitating strategy, planning and best practice sharing with management, customers and industry; and ensuring that security solutions are designed and implemented.

Position Details Non-union - This position is temporary full time for up to 12 months.

Key Accountabilities
  • Direct and provide leadership in the development and implementation of enterprise security plans and provide management with the tools and reporting that enables informed decision making on priorities, investments, remediation activities and improvements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and leadership and with industry peers and solution providers to identify, roadmap and implement value-added security solutions for information technology, operational technology and physical assets.
  • Lead periodic security risk and gap assessments and define and drive corresponding action plans for prioritized remediation of gaps and vulnerabilities.
  • Lead and promote solution development and technology research and development, applying the principles and techniques of security risk analysis and focused on the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Develop and provide strategic recommendations to the Executive and Board of Directors in the areas of cyber security and physical security.
  • Manage and provide leadership to the workgroup providing the development, interpretation and administration of Enterprise Security policies, procedures, practices, and goals.
  • Direct and provide leadership in the negotiation of vendor contracts for enterprise security contractors and consulting, ensuring alignment with Corporate strategic direction as well as industry standards and best practice.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Degree in Administration, Computer Science or Engineering.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) designation would be considered an asset.
  • Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and Certified Information Security Manager designations would be considered an asset.
  • Nine (9) years experience in a business environment with a focus on enterprise security practices.
  • Must have ability to obtain Government of Canada Secret Clearance.
  • Ability to coach and mentor employees to succeed, while building and maintaining effective relationships.
  • Ability to foster a culture focused on safety, innovation and teamwork.
  • Must have a continuing record of professional development and continuous learning.
  • A suitable combination of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
Additional Information
  • Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters, is required on occasion.
  • A Class 5 Driver's License is required.
  • The job is safety sensitive, and as such, is subject to the provisions of the Drug and Alcohol Policy (Pre-Employment or Pre-Placement for Safety Sensitive Positions).
