The position seeks a driven and ambitious energy salesperson to join our Calgary-based team. The candidate will be responsible for increasing TD Securities footprint across Canada and generating revenue with corporate clients. The role requires working on a trading floor in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with both trading and sales.

The successful candidate will have origination experience in Oil, NGLs, and Natural Gas. As well, they will provide market commentary across all energy products and generate ideas for clients.

We are looking for a proactive team player who takes ownership and accountability of projects, has strong organizational skills, and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities. Liaising with Legal, Compliance, Credit, Technology, Tax, Insurance, Regulatory Reporting and relevant external bodies may be required and is certainly suggested.

Job Requirements:
  1. Minimum of 10 years energy sales & origination
  2. Extensive experience managing clients and understanding client needs.
  3. Candidates will need to have knowledge of physical & financial markets in US and Canada.
  4. Closing transactions that require collaboration from various internal stakeholders, including credit, legal, trading, risk, etc.
  5. Detail-oriented with a high level of integrity, honesty and professionalism
  6. Excellent communication skills (Verbal and Written)
  7. Strong team player; ability to act as a strong partner and collaborator with the energy team, sharing market information and solving complex problems
  8. Ability to act as a liaison between various parties
  9. Proactive, self-starting individual with high levels of ownership. Highly motivated and ability to coach others in technical areas and problem solving. Demonstrate strong business analytical skills, problem solving abilities, initiative, and creativity
  10. Aptitude for building relationships and ability to communicate complex issues to a wide array of internal and external clients with differing levels of product experience.
  11. Ability to operate under pressure addressing time sensitive accountabilities in a fast-paced environment
  12. Ability to operate independently with sound judgement without supervision required
  13. Strong proficiency in use of MS Excel, Bloomberg as well as other MS Office products

Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Engineering or a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution
