Your opportunity :
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director, Education and Administration Systems is a strategic leader responsible for advancing the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy’s education and administrative technology capabilities. This includes overseeing application development, process automation, and systems integration, while aligning with institutional policies and goals.
This role leads a team of skilled administrative staff, manages complex projects, and provides expert guidance to internal and external stakeholders across the Faculty, affiliated hospitals, and broader University community. The Director plays a critical role in ensuring that education and administrative platforms are secure, reliable, and user-centered—enhancing the learner experience and operational excellence.
Your responsibilities will include :
Leading strategic planning and implementation of education and administrative systems
Managing daily operations of technical systems and education technologies
Overseeing the development and integration of custom applications and platforms
Ensuring alignment with university-wide policies, compliance standards, and security protocols
Developing and monitoring systems budgets and resource allocations
Negotiating with external vendors and managing service agreements
Leading process automation and business system optimization initiatives
Supervising and coaching a high-performing team of technical and administrative staff
Managing staff performance, recruitment, and professional development
Providing training and support for faculty, learners, and administrators on new systems
Acting as liaison to key internal and external stakeholders
Essential Qualifications :
At least eight (8) years of experience in progressively responsible positions within an information and / or education technology operations setting.
Proven experience in process automation, workflow design, and implementation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address automation opportunities and identifying ways to enhance and integrate technology.
Strong competency in project management.
Experience conducting needs assessments to identify and evaluate systems requirements and translate project plans.
Demonstrated experience streamlining processes with automated solutions.
In depth knowledge and understanding of curriculum and assessment solutions in medical education.
Relevant work experience in a University, government, post-secondary education or healthcare setting would be an asset.
Demonstrated experience leading and managing / supervising staff required, preferably in a unionized environment.
