Your Team
Join Flair’s Technology and Innovation team, where digital infrastructure and operational excellence intersect to power our airline’s growth. As the Director, Digital Operations, you will lead a team of system administrators, business analysts, product owners, and technical project managers responsible for the platforms that support daily operations across the airline. You’ll work closely with key business units—including Airport and Flight Operations, Revenue Management, Network Planning, and Security—as well as with our Software Engineering, Data, and Product teams. Together, you’ll ensure system stability, vendor accountability, and continuous improvement across mission-critical platforms such as PSS, DCS, EFB, and crew systems. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on enabling digital solutions that drive operational efficiency and scale.
This role is based on-site at our Vancouver, BC (YVR) or Calgary (YYC) office.
A Day In The Life
- Manage multiple complex projects, balancing short-term operational demands with long-term IT strategy.
- Manage budgets, resources, and timelines for digital platforms and systems, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
- Ensure IT systems support operational efficiency, compliance, scalability, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Oversee the stability, security, and performance of the airline’s IT and digital platforms.
- Lead patch management processes, ensuring timely deployment of software updates and vulnerability remediation.
- Collaborate with internal security teams or third-party vendors to identify and mitigate potential threats and maintain compliance with industry standards.
- Prioritize system enhancements, integrations, digital transformation initiatives, and security improvements.
- Oversee incident response, risk management, and IT/digital platforms governance.
- Lead a diverse team of IT professionals, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Manage vendor relationships to ensure service excellence and cost-effectiveness, and compliance with security requirements.
- Oversee change management and risk mitigation strategies for IT projects, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal operational disruptions.
- Provide mentorship and career development opportunities to the team.
- Drive continuous improvements in system reliability and performance.
- Work closely with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to support business-as-usual (BAU) operations and new business initiatives.
- Ensure digital services enhance user experience, operational resilience, and business outcomes.
- Develop and execute IT strategies that align with business objectives
- Oversee the development, deployment, and optimization of enterprise data platforms and analytics solutions.
- Define best practices for data management, governance, accessibility, and protection to support data-driven decision-making.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring To The Role

- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in IT operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Extensive experience in managing large-scale technology operations, digital product development, and data analytics initiatives is a plus
- Proven track record in setting and executing IT strategies that align with overall business goals and objectives.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, cybersecurity best practices, and IT service management frameworks.
- Strong experience in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with senior leadership to define and drive the digital roadmap.
- Hands-on experience with leading data analytics platforms and systems, ensuring they deliver actionable insights that drive business decisions.
- Demonstrated success in overseeing the implementation and optimization of IT infrastructure,
- Experience in managing budgets, timelines, and resources for IT operations and digital product initiatives.
- Background in managing change management processes, with the ability to lead IT teams through periods of growth, transformation, or innovation.
- Experience overseeing cybersecurity initiatives related to system hardening, patch management, vulnerability assessments, and compliance.
- Skills and Abilities:

- Leadership and people management with proven success in leading high-performing IT teams.

- Strong ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources for IT and digital initiatives.
- Ability to drive digital transformation while ensuring organization-wide adoption.
- Capable of balancing business innovation with risk mitigation in digital operations.
- Requirements:
- Clear criminal record check and satisfactory references
- Ability to maintain a valid Passport to accommodate work travel.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
