Arc’teryx in North Vancouver is seeking a senior leader to create innovative men’s consumer product concepts for Climb and Snow categories, delivering strong design direction aligned with merchandising strategy.

You will provide creative leadership to product design teams to deliver world-class products and exceptional consumer experiences, balancing autonomy with collaboration in a role based on-site with some hybrid flexibility.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Apparel Design, Industrial Design or Textile Engineering.
  • 12+ years in technical apparel or performance hardgoods design/production.
  • 5+ years leading design teams.
  • Excellent knowledge of technical garments, footwear, and gear construction, fit and materials.
  • Willing and able to travel internationally.

Job description

• You lead the creation of innovative and exceptional consumer product concepts for Arc’teryx with a focus on men’s apparel for our Climb and Snow product categories.
• Your strong consumer-facing product vision delivers resolved and cohesive product design direction aligned with our product merchandising strategy.
• You provide strong creative leadership to our product design teams to deliver world-class product and an exceptional consumer experience.
• This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is expected to be performed on-site, with some hybrid flexibility.
• We are builders, problem solvers and passionate outdoor enthusiasts. Fueled by curiosity, we take an immersive approach to identifying future needs then build, test, and validate products that solve for real functional challenges.

Requirements
  • You have a degree in Apparel Design, Industrial Design or Textile Engineering.
  • You have 12+ years of industry experience in technical apparel and or performance hardgoods design and/or production, including 5+ years leading design teams.
  • You have an excellent softgoods knowledge of technical garments, footwear, and gear construction, fit and materials.
  • You have a relationship with and knowledge of both climbing and snow cultures, and you deeply understand the activity specific needs of the athlete.
  • You have a keen interest in technical product and its application to a variety of outdoor activities.
  • You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right.
  • You remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity.
  • You effectively balance autonomy and collaboration.
  • You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement.
  • Your passion for your work is paralleled by your passion for getting outside and living it.
  • You have the ability to travel internationally as required.
