Role Overview

The Director of Cyber Analytics will lead our data science team in Toronto, focusing on developing and delivering actionable insights and products to reduce fraud for issuers, acquirers, and merchants. Responsibilities include:

  1. Leading a team focused on data science, AI model development, and integration of fraud and cyber threat data sources.
  2. Developing analytical pipelines to identify at-risk merchants and cards early to prevent fraud.
  3. Improving fraud measurement methodologies for increased accuracy.
  4. Creating analytical dashboards for internal and external fraud information and benchmarks.
Candidate Profile

We seek a highly motivated individual with strong customer relationship management and problem-solving skills. The candidate should be self-driven, achievement-oriented, curious, and capable of leading a team of data scientists using the latest technologies.

Technical Skills
  • Experience analyzing large datasets to identify trends and insights.
  • Proficiency with statistical tools such as Python, R, SAS.
  • Experience with Python and Spark for data manipulation.
  • Ability to present insights clearly to management and clients.
  • Experience with big-data platforms (e.g., Hadoop, Netezza, Oracle).
  • Familiarity with UNIX and working across multiple languages and operating systems.
Business Skills
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Subject matter expertise in payments, fraud, or related fields, or ability to quickly learn new areas.
  • Creativity, curiosity, and innovation in problem-solving.
  • Experience in developing new products/services and working across disciplines.
  • Ability to articulate analysis results effectively both verbally and in writing.
Educational Requirements
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering) preferred.
  • Relevant coursework or demonstrated experience in data analysis, machine learning, and visualization.
