The strategic use of data is vital for our business growth. Join us to shape the future of Johnson Outdoors by leading consumer insights. This role involves developing, leading, and evaluating system-wide consumer insights and market research strategies, ensuring business decisions and brand strategies are data-driven. You will collaborate globally across all divisions to develop research methods, tools, and standards based on market best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with global business units to develop consumer insights and need profiles supporting brand strategies and deep consumer knowledge, facilitating informed decision-making and innovation.
  2. Build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand business objectives and the data needed for decision-making.
  3. Guide the use of quantitative data to assess consumer behaviors and inform marketing and business strategies.
  4. Identify critical metrics and KPIs with business teams to support decision processes.
  5. Provide reporting and dashboards to analyze consumer behavior and generate actionable insights.
  6. Lead consumer research projects and translate results into strategic initiatives, including measuring outcomes.
  7. Oversee research firm selection, ensuring the use of best practices and methodologies.
  8. Establish and promote standards, methods, and best practices for consumer insights and product innovation.
  9. Address challenges and emerging issues within business units, implementing solutions through a consumer-focused approach.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Manage department budgets within guidelines.
  • Develop and approve policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Handle HR responsibilities including hiring, performance evaluations, and staff development.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business management, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in global consumer insights and market research, with leadership skills in a diverse consumer goods environment.
  • Deep knowledge of consumer insights and analytics techniques.
  • Proficiency in interpreting marketing and business analytics.
  • Experience motivating and developing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Project management expertise from concept to evaluation.
  • Detail-oriented with high-quality standards.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, JDE, Business Objects, or similar systems.
