Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise is seeking a Director of Conference Services and Catering to lead and optimize all catering activities, from initial inquiry to execution. You will oversee a team of conference service managers, coordinate with Sales, and drive space optimization to enhance guest experiences in Banff National Park.

Role requires leadership in a luxury hospitality setting, strong communication, and a track record of managing budgets, client relations, and cross-functional teams.

Responsabilités

• Direct and manage all activity related to the Catering office, ensuring service standards are followed.
• Responsible for all catering from booking to execution and conference services from contract to event.
• Prepare an annual budget and administer it responsibly.
• Build rapport with clients before, during, and after conferences to encourage repeat business.
• Conduct site inspections as required.
• Develop annual business plans for the department with the Director of Sales & Marketing.
• Ensure bookings, resumes, contracts and event orders are prepared and distributed accurately.
• Coordinate with food & beverage to optimize space and reservations.
• Lead training and recruitment for the Conference Service team.
• Follow safety policies and drive space optimization for guest experience and financial performance.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
• Direct and manage all activity related to the Catering office, ensuring all service standards are followed
• Responsible for all catering, from booking to execution and conference services from the time a contract becomes definite to execution
• Prepare an annual budget for approval and administer that budget in a fiscally responsible manner
• Establish and maintain rapport with clients, prior to, during and post conference, exceeding their expectations and encouraging repeat business
• Conduct site inspections as required
• Develop annual business plans for the department in conjunction with the Director of Sales & Marketing
• Ensure that function bookings, group resumes, event contracts and banquet event orders are prepared and distributed accurately and efficiently
• Ensure meeting and function rooms are properly maintained at all times liaising with food and beverage outlets regarding reservations and flow of clients
• Work closely with the Director of Food & Beverage to prepare monthly forecasts
• Balance operational, administrative and colleague needs
• Follow departmental policies and procedures
• Drives function space optimization/maximization to ensure the best utilization of space for guest experience and financial performance
• Lead a team of Conference Service Managers
• Onboard new team members
• Lead training and recruitment efforts
• Follow all safety policies
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Previous leadership experience within a similar role required
• Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications and relevant computer applications required
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Proactive, detail oriented, and able to work collaboratively across teams to drive results and deliver memorable experiences
