Lynwood Charlton Centre ("LCC" or "the Centre") seeks a strategic and innovative leader for the role of Director, Community Based Services ("Director"). This role offers an exceptional opportunity to lead the revitalization, expansion and evolution of an innovative, province-wide mental health service.

ABOUT LCC

LCC is a publicly funded charitable organization in the City of Hamilton which provides a spectrum of innovative and evidence-based, mental health services. We provide residential, day treatment, and community-based services including in-home and school-based programs to children, youth, and families within the community.

Fully accredited by the Canadian Centre for Accreditation, LCC is the Lead Agency for the Hamilton service area for Moving on Mental Health. This is a Ministry initiated plan to transform the experiences of children, youth and families dealing with mental health issues, and strengthen the community-based system for delivering mental health services to them. Through our Lead Agency role, we work to coordinate services, advocate for system improvements, and foster collaboration across various sectors. We work in close partnership with child and youth mental health providers, broader community allies-including child welfare, health networks, and education boards-and those with lived experiences to drive lasting change.

We are currently looking for a Director, Community Based Services to join our team in Hamilton.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Senior Director, Program Operations and System Planning, the Director has responsibility for the following Community Based Services at LCC : GPS Integrated Mental Health Treatment Program, SAAT and OASIS Programs; Compass Day Treatment Programs; ASCY / LCC Partnership Program; and the Access System Navigation Program.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Will provide leadership and oversight of GPS Integrated Mental Health Treatment Program, SAAT and OASIS Programs; Compass Day Treatment Programs; Access System Navigation Program, including ensuring adherence to Ministry Licensing and Accreditation Standards

• Provide direct management and oversight of ASCY / LCC Partnership Program
• Collaborate with the Senior Director and Director of Finance on the development and oversight of applicable program budgets
• Oversee the Community of Practice Committee, and the VTRA (violence risk assessment) program
• Oversee administrative on-call duties on a rotating basis with other senior leaders.
• Chair / participate in meetings and committees both at LCC and in the community.
• Represent the Agency at community functions both locally and more broadly as required, developing and maintaining community linkages as they relate to community-based programs.
• Work collaboratively with other key stakeholders, including Ministry representatives, local and provincial community partners, youth and families.
• Provide leadership and guidance to direct and indirect reports, ensuring that all staff receive appropriate orientation, training, and ongoing coaching.
• As a member of Senior Management, engage in the planning and overall direction of the Centre, including involvement in policy development, budget preparation, program development and service planning.
• Other related duties as assigned.

ABOUT YOU

• As the ideal candidate, you apply a strategic lens and budgeting skills to strengthen operations. A collaborative team builder, who will bring experience in healthcare planning, administration, or system coordination, with a solid understanding of, and advocacy for, child and youth mental health and broader health and social services systems in Ontario. An understanding / experience in the Hamilton community would be an asset. You have proven success leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives and are skilled at building compelling cases for partnership and engagement. Your experience includes managing formal governance structures, facilitating committees, and navigating ministry relationships. You thrive in relationship building and can effectively promote program value while handling sensitive partnership discussions.
• 10 years or more experience at a senior management level in a not-for-profit setting at an organizational and system level in children's mental health preferred.
• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with several years of related experience, or Master's Degree in a related discipline is strongly preferred.
• Availability and willingness for local travel is required.
• A valid G class driver's license, and reliable vehicle is required, as this role requires local work-related travel within Hamilton. Minimum $1-million liability insurance coverage is required.
• Strong communication (verbal and written) and administrative organizational skills are required.
