What is the opportunity?

As Director, Commercial Channels Product Management you will be responsible for managing the product lifecycle of digital channels in Commercial Banking at RBC. You will lead a team of channel product managers to grow client engagement, innovate the client experience, resolve client incidents, and continuously improve capabilities on our interactive channels (online and mobile). You will report into the Senior Director, Commercial Channels and be part of the management team who has oversight of Direct Channels, Channel Transformation, Channel Delivery, and Client Insights. You will work collaboratively with your partners and stakeholders in Cash Management, Business Deposits, IT, Transformation, Operations, Fraud, Risk, and Compliance to manage the end-to-end client experience on the platform while driving shared OKRs and exceptional business performance.

What will you do?

  • Lead and work collaboratively with your team to maintain channel servicing, resiliency, security, controls, and policies to ensure a robust and state-of-the-art platform
  • Oversee backlog refinement on legacy and emerging channel capabilities launched in market to prioritize resourcing, optimize capacity and maximize our return on investments (ROI)
  • Drive client investigations and inquiries into defects, risks, fraud, and underperformance on the channel to safeguard our clients’ business and RBC’s brand reputation
  • Create and manage a portfolio of continuous improvement initiatives to drive channel enhancements, safety and soundness, and needed operating model changes
  • Work collaboratively with the Senior Director and the management team to articulate channel strategies, management reporting and project plans to modernize the platform and be the point person for aggregating strategies and management reporting (e.g. product vision, digital engagement, sunsetting systems and capabilities)
  • Champion the voice of business clients ensuring developed solutions address client needs and pain points, leveraging research, benchmarks and data-driven facts and insights
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive offerings, regulatory changes and technology advancements to provide recommendations to senior leaders from time to time
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder engagement, communication, alignment and buy-in
  • Partner with vendors and suppliers to procure ancillary products and services that enhances client experience, operational efficiency, and market differentiation
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative and high-performing team culture, inspiring talent and competency growth

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in Digital Product Lifecycle Management or Software Development, preferably in Commercial Banking with familiarity in Cash Management, Deposits and/or Liquidity products and services
  • Proven track record and experience working in a hybrid Agile-Waterfall environment (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Testing, Release) with proficiency in enterprise collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence, Jira, Slack, Mural, Lucid, Visio, SharePoint)
  • Ability to craft and translate strategy, market research, and customer needs into a compelling product vision with clear roadmaps and pathways to meet ROI targets
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, vendors and cross-functional teams to deliver on shared outcomes and business metrics
  • Undergraduate/Post Graduate Degree or equivalent experience in a related field (e.g. computer science, technology, engineering, digital, payment)

Nice to have

  • Background in data, analytics, machine learning or AI
  • Certifications in Product or Project Management
  • Bilingual in French and English
