What You’ll Be Doing

This position is ideal for experienced candidates with developed business credit management skills, a deep experience working with commercial banking clients, and a passion for a client-centric environment aligned with a strong performance culture. As a Director, Commercial Banking (Individual Contributor), you will manage and grow a portfolio of commercial banking clients by proactively developing new business opportunities in the community and ensuring clients’ day-to-day banking needs are met at the highest level. Your role will be to be a banking partner and a champion for our clients’ businesses, committed to delivering flexible business solutions, expert advice, and timely support to help clients achieve their goals.

How You’ll Succeed
  • Business Development: Lead activities with prospective and key CIBC clients and represent CIBC in the community to develop and foster relationships.
  • Relationship Building: Engage in marketing and outreach activities, develop new client relationships leveraging referral sources, existing clients, and community contacts.
  • Credit Management: Structure, negotiate, and document credit and cash management arrangements that meet client needs.
  • Client Focus: Foster an environment of exceptional service, partnership, and relationship management.
  • Collaboration: Connect clients with opportunities, develop a local business profile, and build effective relationships with clients and internal partners.
Who You Are
  • Experience in commercial banking: Proven skills in business development, risk and credit management, and negotiation. Ability to identify financial advisory opportunities and address credit issues.
  • Client-first mindset: Strong relationship management skills and purpose-driven engagement to find solutions.
  • Established local profile: Knowledge of the marketplace and medium-sized business needs.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field.
