A leading company in the insurance sector is seeking a Director for Commercial Auto Claims. This pivotal role involves managing claims processes and policy development, requiring substantial experience in commercial transportation claims leadership. Your role as Director, Commercial Auto Claims is of primary importance in delivering on our stewardship of our Commercial Automobile insurance business. When The company sells an insurance policy, they are selling our expertise in claims adjudication and claims management. The company’s claims management is balanced, demonstrating an empathetic understanding and approach to claims while at the same time ensuring superior results in returning our insureds to their pre-accident state, and or helping them deal with potential litigation in a timely professional manner.

Major Responsibilities
Refine, Develop and implement claims handling policies & procedures for commercial automobile insurance claims.
Oversee the investigation, negotiation, and settlement of commercial automobile insurance claims from our internal team of claims adjusters & assistants. Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards.
Analyze claims data to identify trends, mitigate risks, and improve processes. Manage claims reserves and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Lead and mentor a team of claims adjusters, claims assistants and managers.
Collaborate with legal teams, policyholders, internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex claims. Report claims metrics and trends to senior management.
Serve as a subject matter expert for Commercial Automobile Claims within the company, and to support the Head of Commercial Automobile, who manages this line of business.
Serves as key partner in developing The company’s own Information System, in the area of Commercia Automobile, to support The company’s commitment to being Digital First in our business operations.
Work with your team members and colleagues to identify opportunities and solutions for process improvement
Qualifications:
Expert knowledge of commercial transportation claims acquired through a minimum of 8-10 years experience
Experience in leading people in commercial transportation claims
Good written and verbal communication skills and comfortable in a client facing role
A decision maker who has a strong bias for action
Comfortable representing The company as the client in mediations and lawsuits
University education in Business, Risk Management (Preferred) Insurance Specific Education – CIP, FCIP, CRM,
Adjusters Licenses (Preferred)
The ability to operate in a fast-paced environment in a rapidly evolving organization
Strong knowledge of insurance policies, claims processes, and legal regulations.
Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in claims management processes and Microsoft Office.
