The Director, Clinical Services - Coastal BC, is a key representative of Good Samaritan Canada and an Ambassador and collaborative leader working with internal and external stakeholders of the organization.
Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer (VP and CCO), the Director of Clinical Services, Coastal BC, provides leadership and accountability for a range of programs and services, including assisted living, long-term care, and dementia care. They are responsible for leading and mentoring a skilled team of leaders while fostering a positive and just work culture that supports organizational and employee growth in alignment with Good Samaritan’s mission, vision, and values. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the Director is also responsible for establishing and attaining goals aligned with the organization’s strategic plan, ensuring financial stewardship, and assessing and monitoring organizational risk.

- Reviews financial reports, submits to an annual budget process, monitors financial performance, and ensures financial targets are met within the portfolio.
- Utilizes financial data to make fiscally responsible decisions and recommendations in line with organizational plan objectives.
Communications and Stakeholder / Relationship Management :
- Supports and / or collaboratively develop communication plans for internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee or coordinate initiatives to enhance resident / client / employee experience and ensure consistency across Good Samaritan.
- Leads and / or represents Good Samaritan and its residents / clients / employees on external committees and at events.
- Establishes, promotes and maintains lasting relationships with external and internal stakeholders such as donors, residents / clients, volunteers, Good Samaritan members, families, employees and other partners.
Health and Safety :
- Applies operational policies and procedures and employs organizational systems designed to assure safety of residents / clients / employees, environmental and infection control standards in all services.
- Ensures compliance with operational policies, procedures, and systems with respect to Disability Management, Occupational Health and Safety, and Workers' Compensation.
Other :
- Ability to be on-call outside of regular business hours as required, willingness to participate in committees and projects.
- Other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Five (5) years of operational and administration experience in large and complex healthcare organizations, with continued growth in responsibilities and increased complexity of roles, with the last two (2) years in a senior management level position.
- Minimum five (5) years leadership experience related to health care, preferably in continuing care.
- An undergraduate degree with a clinical focus (i.e. BScN).
- A master’s degree in health or business administration Certified Health Executive designation is preferred.
- Active registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM)is required.
REQUIREMENTS
- A current and clear Criminal Records Check Form and if applicable a Vulnerable Sector Check that has been obtained no more than 90 calendar days prior to the hire date.
- A tuberculosis screening that has been completed no more than 12 months prior to the hire date.
SALARY
The salary band of Director, Clinical Services is from $128,494.15 to $165,798.73.
