The YMCA of Oakville seeks a passionate leader to ignite the potential within our young learners. Be the spark for a thriving childcare environment! Lead and empower your team as the Child Care Director.
As a Child Care Director, you will provide operational leadership to multiple childcare sites serving children 6 weeks to 12 years of age and their families. This position is responsible for maintaining good working relationships and effectively managing the reputation of the YMCA with families in our care, school administration, Ministry of Education, and Halton Region. Coaching, developing, and supporting a team of Child Care Educators to deliver quality programs that are aligned with the Association’s strategic plan and annual objectives.
Location: YMCA Child Care Centres, Oakville, ON
Schedule of Work: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week with rotational shifts between 7:00 am to 6:00 pm

Responsibilities:
• Role model effective leadership and managerial behavior that aligns consistently with our YMCA core values
• Recruit, orient, coordinate, and deliver training for the child care team within the cluster
• Provide direction, support, and create development plans for the child care team within the cluster to motivate good performance, deliver quality programs and build departmental capacity
• Monitor fiscal performance monthly, accurately analyzes monthly variances and ensures plans a re put in place to meet the annual budget plan
• Ensures all centres meet the licensing requirements of the Child Care Early Years Act, and that all areas of non-compliance are followed up in a timely and professional manner
• Ensures all human resource policies and procedures are applied consistently and measures are put in place to ensure transparency and fair processes
• Ensures the effective implementation of the curriculum, and the delivery of high-quality programs within the assigned cluster group
• Develops and maintains positive, professional relationships with the Ministry of Education, Halton Region, and the Halton District School Board (separate and public)
Requirements:
• College Diploma or University Degree in Early Childhood Education, and certified through the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE)
• Minimum 2 years of management/supervisory experience
• Strong supervisory and managerial skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proven budgetary management experience
• Demonstrated ability in leading, coaching, and cultivating a work environment of collaboration and teamwork
• Valid Ontario driver’s license
• Valid Standard First Aid with CPR C prior to first day of work
• Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
