Department Information

The Tlicho Community Services Agency is responsible for delivering education, health, and social services within the Tlicho region. Its vision, 'Strong Like Two People,' symbolizes the strength and importance of two cultures in community development.

Position Overview

Are you a visionary leader seeking to make a difference? This role offers an opportunity to lead Child and Family Services across the Tlicho region, ensuring community needs are met through strategic planning, program development, and evaluation. You will work with communities including Behchoko, Gameti, Wekweeti, and Whati, and collaborate with regional partners.

Applicants must promote a culturally safe environment and practice trauma-informed care, respecting the impacts of colonization and residential schools on Indigenous health outcomes.

Key Requirements and Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Social Work or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in child and family services.
  • At least 6 years of management experience.
  • Eligibility for licensing with NWT Health and Social Services Social Work Registrar.
  • Completion of Child and Family Services Core training for Deputy Director Practice appointment.

A Bachelor's degree with 6 years of relevant experience in child and family services and 7 years in management may also be considered.

This position is based in Behchoko, approximately one hour from Yellowknife, with a comprehensive benefits and salary package, including relocation support.
