About the Role
The Director, Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL) is the senior leader on issues related to inclusivity and access for students with disabilities at SFU and provides comprehensive leadership, management and vision to support the University in meeting its goals, commitments and legal responsibilities under Human Rights legislation related to the provision of non-discriminatory access to all programs, services and facilities offered at the institution. The role establishes and maintains internal and external communication links with organizations to develop partnerships and programming aimed at increasing retention and degree attainment success of students with disabilities. Administratively, the role is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic plans, policies, programs and services provided across Student Services and through the Centre for Accessible Learning (CAL) to promote inclusion, supporting undergraduate, graduate, and non-degree seeking students with disabilities in their pursuit of academic opportunity by mitigating barriers to access in all facets of University life.
Qualifications
Master's Degree in Counselling, Clinical or Educational Psychology, or a related discipline, and ten years of related experience in areas such as the formulation and evaluation of strategic plans to facilitate access for people with disabilities, legal and institutional policy interpretation and implementation, professional team management, as well as experience working with neurodiverse, disabled, and historically marginalized populations in a post-secondary environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
