What is the opportunity?

As Director, Cash Management - Business Performance and Pricing, you will provide strategic and business insights supporting the Cash Management team to enhance product insights and knowledge to identify opportunities for enhancement to improve product penetration and strategic product roadmaps to differentiate RBC solutions in the market. The incumbent is expected to have strong business acumen, communications and analytical skills.

In this role, you will collaborate across Commercial Banking and functional partners including Finance and other partners to develop product performance analysis and reporting across our suite of cash management solutions (e.g., Wires, ACH, Interac) and provide actionable insights to help us understand client behavior, market and competitor trends, and overall product performance. In addition, you will also support the development of holistic pricing strategy to support pricing transformation and ongoing monetization of our cash management solutions.

What you will do:

  • Gather and analyze performance data across cash management products (e.g., Wires, ACH, PayEdge) to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities, to provide actionable insights to enhance product and portfolio outcomes. Develop strategies working with the product teams to enhance existing product and business reporting to support growth and innovation
  • Generate business reporting and insights to highlight ongoing performance and portfolio health through the Commercial Banking Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), standardized recurring reports including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) for senior executives. Identify priority focus areas, recommend opportunities and implement changes to successfully execute Commercial Banking multi-year-goals and 2030 objectives.
  • Develop strategies to drive product pricing evolution and monetization to simplify and enhance existing pricing structures and models. Working in collaboration with product, Finance and others, develop modeling and approaches leveraging analysis to formulate recommended approach to recommend and lead pricing enhancements across the solutions.
  • Manage stakeholders and relationships across Commercial Banking, Finance, and others to inform and support ongoing added value through reporting and insights
  • Proactively montor, analyze and report business financials (revenues, volumes, client insights, market and competition information including detailed ongoing reporting on across key products
  • Research and report onCommercial Banking Cash Management market share, revenues, and competitive positioning among all banks in Canada.
  • Partner with product managers, sales teams, and data teams to gather and present product and client data and insights from multiple sources within RBC to support product strategies and approaches to grow client adoption and revenues,
  • Create product-level dashboards and reports including KPIs using various tools – Tableau, MS PowerPoint, Excel and others
  • Support annual planning and prioritization of OKR and Business Performance planning including revenues, NIE and others

What do you need to succeed?

Must-Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in banking or financial services industry with understanding of business and financial reporting, data analysis, and business management
  • Strong proficiency and experience working with Tableau, Excel, Word and PowerPoint relational databases and reports
  • Strong forecasting and analytical abilities with the expertise to leverage data-driven insights to develop actionable and forward-looking business strategies.
  • Effective storytelling skills – written and verbal skills and attention to detail in preparing reporting and summaries that is provided to product teams and senor / executive leadership.
  • A ‘Growth Mindset’ – remain current with emerging consumer / industry trends, embraces new data to generate impactful insights. Proactive and inquisitive mindset, continuously seeking opportunities and the “why” behind data trends to improve existing processes and streamline activities.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Economics, Statics, Mathematics, Accounting or Finance
  • A Master’s degree is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with statistical techniques such as regression analysis, clustering.
  • Knowledge of RBC’s cash management products and services.
