We're seeking an exceptional leader who combines strategic vision with hands-on expertise in data analytics and artificial intelligence. You'll be passionate about transforming complex business challenges into actionable insights, with a curiosity for uncovering opportunities hidden within data. As our BI Director, you'll architect our next-generation analytics capabilities while building and leading a high-performing team of data engineers. This role offers the unique opportunity to drive enterprise-wide data strategy, establish best practices for AI implementation, and create scalable solutions that directly impact business growth and customer satisfaction across TELUS Business.

The Impact You’ll Make and What We’ll Accomplish Together

Reporting to the Vice President, Small & Medium Business Marketing, you will be the chief strategist for our intelligent marketing future. You will have the mandate to lead our data ecosystem, defining our roadmap and evolving our customer 360 platform.


Your role is to transform our rich data into a predictive, strategic asset. You will move beyond traditional BI, pioneering the use of machine learning and advanced analytics to create profound competitive advantages.


Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a culture of innovation and data-driven excellence, guiding your team to unlock insights that will reshape how we approach the market. A critical component of your success will be leading a large team (onshore and offshore), providing dedicated support, coaching, and development to help your team members achieve their professional and personal objectives.

Qualifications

You're the missing piece of the puzzle

  • Proven leadership experience: Successfully built, managed, and developed high-performing analytics teams in fast-moving business environments
  • Strategic mindset with practical execution: Challenge existing processes, ask critical questions about data usage, and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Strong analytical and communication skills: Translate technical concepts into business language and turn data analysis into clear recommendations for action
  • Marketing technology expertise: Hands-on experience with BI tools, Adobe digital platforms, and Salesforce Cloud, including their built-in analytics capabilities
  • Project delivery track record: Led complex data and analytics initiatives from planning through implementation, including managing teams, timelines, and organizational change
  • Stakeholder management abilities: Build relationships across departments, influence decision-makers, and gain support for data-driven initiatives
  • Operational flexibility: Balance immediate business needs with long-term strategic planning and system development


Great-to-haves

  • An educational background in a technical or data-driven field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Data Science) and/or a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree
  • Hands-on experience in a data science or machine learning environment is a strong asset
  • 10+ years of progressive and relevant work experience in analytics, data, or a related field
  • Prior telecommunications expertise
  • B2B marketing experience

Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.); interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope.

Salary Range: $128,000-$192,000

Performance Bonus or Sales Incentive Plan: 30%

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. In addition, TELUS offers rewarding benefitssuch as:
