Job description

Join us to build a more rewarding financial future for all Canadians

At Neo, we’re on a mission to build a more rewarding financial future for all Canadians. Life at a rapidly expanding tech startup isn’t for everyone. It’s complex, fast-paced, high-pressure, but also incredibly fulfilling. Since its founding in 2019, Neo has gained incredible traction and is one of the fastest-growing fintech companies in Canada.

  • LinkedIn’s Top Startup in Canada for 2022 and 2023
  • Top-ranked mobile apps and credit cards
  • Team of 700+ people
  • 1M+ customers

The Role

We’re looking for a bold, strategic brand leader to drive how Neo shows up to customers, to media, and to the market. As Director of Brand Management, you’ll oversee brand storytelling, integrated campaigns, PR and social. You’ll work closely with the executive team and report to the VP of Brand to help shape the voice, reputation, and cultural relevance of one of Canada’s most ambitious fintech companies.

This role is built for someone who can toggle between big-picture brand building and boots-on-the-ground execution. Someone who knows how to turn a product launch into a narrative, a campaign into a movement, and a press moment into lasting momentum.

What you'll be doing:

Brand Marketing

  • Lead integrated brand campaigns from creative briefing and channel strategy to production and measurement
  • Translate company objectives into clear messaging frameworks and campaign plans
  • Work with cross-functional teams (growth, product, content) to bring the brand to life across every touchpoint
  • Develop brand playbooks, tone of voice guides, and creative toolkits to scale storytelling with consistency
  • Ensure a consistent, compelling brand identity across paid, earned, owned, and shared channels

Communications & PR

  • Own Neo’s media and communications strategy including product announcements, founder thought leadership, and corporate storytelling
  • Manage agency partners to secure earned media coverage, editorial features, and speaking opportunities
  • Build comms strategies that drive credibility, from customer trust to investor confidence
  • Help shape Neo’s POV on key industry issues and translate it into timely, relevant content
  • Orchestrate the social strategy and social roadmap in partnership with the Social Media manager
  • Ensure messaging consistency across platforms and audiences

Leadership

  • Mentor and grow a small team across social, and communications
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on brand reputation, narrative development, and proactive storytelling opportunities

Who we are looking for:

  • 8–10 years of brand, marketing, or communications experience ideally with time spent in consumer tech, fintech, or high-growth environments
  • A sharp strategic mind paired with strong creative instincts
  • Experience leading integrated marketing campaigns across paid, earned, and owned media
Proven ability to shape messaging that’s as clear as it is compelling
  • A background in working with PR or media partners, with a solid understanding of the Canadian media landscape
  • Natural storytelling ability, with the judgment to know what matters, when to speak, and how to be heard
  • High comfort operating in fast-moving, high-change environments
