Director Analyst, Procurement Technology Expert (Remote-Eastern Canada)

About this role:

Gartner is seeking a Director Analyst to provide research and advisory services to global clients in the US, EMEA, and beyond. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Procurement or IT Leader serving Procurement, vendor product management, or consultancy, working with senior institutional leadership. The role involves helping executives transform their procurement digital capabilities and achieve best-in-class performance.

What you will do:

You will collaborate with a team of experienced experts to develop pragmatic, authoritative research and advice addressing clients' priorities in procurement technology. Your focus will be on helping clients understand the impact of technology on procurement and selecting the best-fit vendors. You will support procurement leaders, application managers, technology vendors, consultants, and investors.

You will produce research and thought leadership on topics including:

  • Using AI to improve automation in sourcing and procurement
  • Emerging analytics for source-to-pay processes
  • Business value drivers for sourcing and procurement applications
  • Creating technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives
  • Selecting vendors within the Source-to-Pay market landscape
  • Planning and managing procurement technology implementations
  • Driving adoption and ROI for procurement tech
Keys to success:
  • Staying ahead of developments in procurement applications and adjacent areas
  • Delivering high-quality, actionable advice via presentations, calls, and discussions
  • Writing clear, high-quality research documents
What you’ll need:
  • 10+ years of experience with procurement applications, including selection, implementation, adoption, change management, or vendor management
  • Familiarity with solutions from providers like Coupa, SAP Ariba, GEP, Jaggaer, and Ivalua
  • Ability to articulate the role of procurement technology in delivering business value
  • Experience leading digital transformation projects
  • Insight into emerging technologies relevant to procurement
