Job summary

Ottawa International Airport Authority seeks an inaugural Director, Airport Planning to lead long-term strategic planning and master planning for the airport’s growth. You will shape infrastructure initiatives, establish requirements, and guide projects from concept to delivery with a collaborative, results-oriented leadership style.

The role requires senior experience in complex infrastructure planning, strong English communication, and credentials in planning, engineering, or architecture.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading complex infrastructure planning initiatives in multi-stakeholder environments.
• Background in airport planning or related infrastructure sectors (urban planning, healthcare, higher education, architecture, large campuses).
• Advanced English communication skills; bilingual English/French considered a plus.
• Professional credentials in planning, engineering, architecture or related disciplines are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic planning of the airport's long-term evolution through master planning, infrastructure development and capital planning.
• Define functional and operational requirements for major infrastructure projects.
• Guide projects from planning to delivery with cross-functional teams.
• Build and lead multidisciplinary teams; manage planning initiatives through all phases.
• Engage executives, regulators, and external partners to align with the strategic vision.
