Job Summary

This position is responsible to be the technical lead engineer for research, innovation and optimization using latest technology trends like AI and Gen/AI adoption. This position will work collaboratively with cross-functional team for incorporation of AI and Gen/AI that span across multiple projects and technology architectures ensuring the technical solution is forward looking and meets the organization's goal of enhancing service delivery through AI/GenAI initiatives.

Working with other Technology leaders to help develop innovation and AI strategy and a roadmap to align with business strategy and ensure implementation of this roadmap. Provide feedback and ensure the adjustment to roadmap if needed due to issues in operationalizing.

How You Will Make a Difference

  • Conducting research to find innovate approaches and proposing use of AI and machine learning by recommending fit for purpose AI models and algorithms. Building prototype and proof of concepts to expedite adoption.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to find opportunities to integrate innovative AI solutions into products and services by optimizing and fine-tuning AI models for performance and scalability.
  • Analyzing and interpreting complex data and identifying needs for data platform, integration and architecture to provide actionable insights.
  • Contributing to creating an innovation strategy, developing and managing an AI roadmap to align with the strategy.
  • Staying updated with the latest technology advancements and innovation in AI and machine learning technologies.

Requirements That Are Important To Us

  • University degree in Computer Science or Engineering, with specialization in Artificial Intelligence or equivalent
  • Minimum six to nine years of relevant experience in software architectures in practice
  • Experience in data science, machine learning, RPA, and AI in general
  • Equivalent of Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate or similar is required
  • Equivalent of Artificial Intelligence Engineer (AIE) OR University of Toronto Certificate in Artificial Intelligence or similar is required
  • Software application, system analysis, design and solution architecture design experience are an asset
  • Expertise in AI, GenAI engineering, AI models and algorithms are an asset
  • Proven experience in AI, machine learning, and deep learning.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java are an asset
  • Azure AI/ML knowledge is preferred
  • Strong strategic development, project management and interpersonal skills

The OMA has moved to a permanent hybrid work environment. As such, the individual in this position will be required to work a minimum number of days in our Toronto office.
