TC Infrastructure Services Ltd. is currently seeking an experienced Directional Driller/Locator in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Crew foreman, this position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in operating telecommunications/construction equipment. The operator must know how to maintain and care for the machinery being operated and has the responsibility to create a safe working area around their equipment.
RequirementsKEY (CORE) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Maintain a valid class 3A driver's license
- Load and unload directional bore equipment securely and damage-free
- Participate in Tailgate/Tailboard meetings and complete drivers logbook (conduct pre, en-route, and post-trip inspections)
- Maintain and record accurate daily drilling activities
- Read and interpret project plans, diagrams, and locates
- Possess a good working attitude
- Take direction from the crew Foreman
- Be willing to work a 10-hour day and different types of work shifts
- Be able to work in all climatic conditions
- Be willing to travel outside of their home area
- Handle trucks and tools respectfully and responsibly
- Assist in labor activities when required
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Safe operation of several power and motorized tools and equipment
- Placing telecom structures and pedestals
- Place underground and overhead fiber and copper cables
- Couple conduit and pull various types of cables
- Operate yellow iron and trucks when required
- Access confined spaces and plant site conditions
- Follow safe working procedures around heavy equipment and large trucks
- Understand utility locates and the ground conditions being worked
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:- At least two years of experience in operating construction equipment
- Must be a minimum of 18 years old
- Two years of experience with minor maintenance on vehicles and equipment
- Provide copies of all certificates/tickets (e.g., WHMIS, CSTS, First Aid, Confined Space, Fall Arrest)
- Experience pulling trailers and operating a bucket and digger truck
- Willing to advance their respective license to transport equipment
- Must be local to Calgary
