Director, Sub-Practice Lead, Systems Engineering & Integration

The Systems Engineering and Integration Practice is seeking a Director to lead a dynamic team of engineers, professionals, and technicians within the Technical Professional Organization (TPO). This role reports to the Vice-president, Practice Lead, Rail Transit & Mobility, and is based in Canada.

Location: Montréal, QC

Additional Locations: Calgary, AB - Toronto, ON

Your role within the team:

  • Lead and manage the Systems Engineering and Integration sub-practice, emphasizing collaboration, excellence, and a culture of safety, integrity, diversity, equality, and inclusivity.
  • Control operational costs and optimize workload ensuring work-life balance, coordinating resources with other teams.
  • Coordinate resources and collaborate with the Global Technology Center.
  • Build networks for strategic positioning on projects.
  • Drive project performance and manage sales objectives (pipeline, success rate, etc.).
  • Evaluate business opportunities and participate in business development activities.
  • Participate in business development and ensure policy compliance.
  • Lead or collaborate in the preparation and/or review of proposals in collaboration with the Proposal Management and Market teams. Cross-sell services from other disciplines to win contracts.
  • Promote interdisciplinary services and develop a high-performing team, focusing on retention, talent development, and performance management.
  • Implement health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Ensure key resources for strategic assignments and career development.
  • Participate as a Project Manager and/or provide technical support on projects or client portfolios.
  • Represent and promote AtkinsRéalis at conferences and professional events.

The ideal candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline. Member of your professional Order, or eligible to become a member (additional jurisdictions across Canada are an asset).
  • 10 to 15 years' experience in systems engineering, including technical team management, project management, and business development.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence. Recognized for mobilizing leadership while maintaining high effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Proven ability to achieve business development and client relationship objectives.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a constantly evolving organizational environment.
  • Bilingual: English and French (*).

(*) If you are in Quebec, knowledge of both French and English is required. Since this role involves interacting with stakeholders across Canada and internationally, proficiency in English is necessary. If outside Quebec, English is required, and French is an asset.
